I use to ping directly with pingoat. Do you think that it is not enough?

Anyway. I use use this list from now. I am waiting for your answer.

If you're doing manual pinging, then I would definitely say use PingOat or Ping-O-Matic. Since the pinging is automated with Wordpress then you want to use a full ping list. The goal is to capture all of the major service which is what this ping list does.

Thank you for your quick answer.

I'm using the ping list in my wordpress blog. BUT do you know if posting via performancing (now scribefire) actually uses the pinging? I don't want it to be bypassed or something and don't know how to tell.
thanks ahead

Hi,
Beside pings, which is this comment plugin and tag plugin? Please kindly advise. Thanks!

Andrew

Brandon Hall said:

Ideally it should. Wordpress will use your ping list whenever a post is published. It shouldn't matter if you are using Performancing (ScribeFire) to post.

Brandon Hall said:

The comment plugin is standard Wordpress and I use the "Subscribe To Comments" plugin for you to stay notified by email. The tag plugin is "Ultimate Tag Warrior". A Google search should turn those right up for you.

I think I am missing something. Where does the 'ping list' go?

Just a thought Brandon but doesn't the use of Pingomatic mean that most of the sites are being pinged twice as nearly all are on the Pingomatic ping list?

I thought I read somewher that IceRocket does much the same but can't find any info on their ping list.

Just thinking about the possibility of spamming.

Wordpress Trackback for Pages Plugin…

Wordpress does not offer pinging capabilities for pages.
The fantastic Wordpress Trackback for Pages Plugin can fix this shortcoming.
Download and enjoy!

I agree with connie, how do you use the ping list, where do you put the info?

Andrew Tan said:

Go to Options on Main Tab.
Find "Writing".
Go to the last paragraph "Update Services".
You will find the textbox to insert the above list.

I think it is important to meantion that this is not the wordpress.com HOSTED blog, you can't use the list with that, instead you have to download the script and you can set up the list on your own hosted blog.

Again this is not for the free blog that wordpress give you (i.e http://paramiliar.wordpress.com) you have to use it on your own blog

Kindly advise me! Thanks! :-)

Thanks for the info and insight. I am currently developing my new Wordpress site to replace my Drupal site.

do you think there is a chance that by pinging pingomatic and all the other services on the list that you may be sending pings twice to some services? one directly and the other by way of pingomatic.
